Dongming Petrochemical and Schneider Electric plan to jointly build an innovation laboratory

September 12, 2023

It is reported that on August 28, Shandong Dongming Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Dongming Petrochemical") and Schneider Electric signed an agreement in France to jointly build a joint innovation laboratory for digitalization of the petrochemical industry (hereinafter referred to as the "Innovation Laboratory"), with a view to Jointly promote industrial digitalization and green development. Li Zhi, Executive President of Dongming Petrochemical Group, and Song Jiong, Global Senior Vice President of Schneider Electric, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. Li Chunying, Mayor of Heze City, Shandong Province, attended and witnessed the agreement.

The "14th Five-Year Plan" period is a critical period for the transformation, upgrading and high-quality development of my country's petrochemical industry. In the face of global energy changes and "double carbon" goals, how to accelerate digital transformation and low-carbon process innovation has become an era issue facing petrochemical companies. As a leading local smelting company, Dongming Petrochemical is shouldering the important task of driving industrial digitalization and sustainable development. Schneider Electric’s accumulation and practice in the fields of energy management and automation made the two companies hit it off.

"One school, two services, multiple platforms", working together with industries to improve digital capabilities

According to the agreement, Dongming Petrochemical will cooperate with Schneider Electric to build a "joint laboratory for digitalization of the petrochemical industry", setting up "one school", providing "two types of services", and building "multiple digital applications and platforms" for the petrochemical industry. Digital green development provides assistance.

"One School" means that both parties will jointly build a "Digital School" to help improve the capabilities of digital solutions in the petrochemical industry in planning, implementation, operation, transformation consulting, etc. by cultivating digital talents in the petrochemical industry, and provide services in human resources and other aspects. Capacity training and consultation will ultimately build the “Digital Hall” into one of the digital talent training bases for the future petrochemical industry.

"Two types of services" run through the petrochemical industry's digital transformation planning, green dual-carbon, processes, indicators and other aspects of cooperation, including "consulting planning services" and "implementation delivery services". Schneider Electric jointly completed project co-construction, delivery and implementation in the fields of intelligence, digitalization, low-carbonization and other fields, helping Dongming Petrochemical drive regional green and low-carbon development, digital transformation and upgrading, and industrial upgrading of the petrochemical industry.

"Multiple digital application platforms" include "Dual Carbon and Energy Optimization Management Platform", "Petrochemical Industry Process Simulation and Optimization", "Petrochemical Industry Simulation Training", "Petrochemical Industry Internet of Things IoT and Big Data Platform", etc. These digital platforms cover energy optimization, process optimization, big data management and other multi-dimensional and multi-scenarios, aiming to continuously improve Dongming Petrochemical's digital capabilities, optimize production processes, improve production efficiency, optimize energy consumption, etc.

Dongming Petrochemical and Schneider Electric will work together to continue to promote energy optimization and optimization of the entire process process, and jointly promote the digital transformation and performance improvement of the oil, gas and chemical related industry chains. Schneider Electric's ETAP energy management platform and power simulation optimization platform can build virtual models and provide comprehensive analysis for different stages of the entire life cycle of electrical systems from design, construction, operation to maintenance, helping companies build leading solutions covering electrical design, simulation, A sustainable, enterprise-grade platform for engineering and operations that increases productivity, collaboration and efficiency. Schneider Electric's full-process optimization solution uses a mature and stable software platform and its own rich engineering implementation experience, combined with Dongming Petrochemical's deep understanding of process and production, to cooperate to improve the automation control level and production stability rate of production equipment, effectively reducing The intensity of production operations ensures the long-term safe and stable operation of the equipment and improves economic benefits.
